Lawrence

The city of Lawrence» is about 45 minutes west of Kansas City and 20 minutes east of Topeka, the state capital.  Lawrence is a college town and is the home to the University of Kansas and the Haskell Indian Nations University.  Lawrence consistently ranks among the top ten best college towns in the United States.  Lawrence has a superb riverfront location and thriving downtown; check out the city of Lawrence Visitor Guide».  In case you were wondering, originally, north-south streets were named after the states in the order they were admitted to the union.  The local newspaper is the Lawrence Journal World».
