Services for International Employees & Scholars

The University of Kansas (KU) derives its mission, vision and inspiration from the world that surrounds us. We are a globally connected international research institution of the highest caliber, and we seek to empower and prepare our students, faculty and staff by continually expanding our networks and demonstrating leadership through our scholarly contributions and engagement.

International Support Services is central to KU’s global enterprise. Our bold aspirations of Sustaining the Planet, Powering the World; Promoting Well-Being, Finding Cures; Building Communities, Expanding Opportunities; and Harnessing Information, Multiplying Knowledge guide our efforts. Each represents a set of challenges and opportunities from a global and international perspective. These aspirations all require the University of Kansas to engage, connect, and transcend. Just as we build synergies across disciplines in the process of discovery, we must creatively connect those engaged in that discovery so that boundaries do not become barriers. This is the work of every student and faculty member, and this is the work of every staff member at the university.

International Support Services is here to inspire, conduct and facilitate that work in every way that we can. From internationally focused student programs and services to new international development initiatives designed to enhance KU’s efforts in the world, we have a team that is dedicated to comprehensive campus internationalization. While our web site tells a small part of the story, connecting with Study Abroad and Global Engagement, the Applied English Center, International Admissions, or the KU International Affairs will begin to show you how profound our collective impact can be and the many ways in which we can help you in your own efforts to bring the world to KU and KU to the world.

On behalf of the entire International Support Services team I invite you to engage us, to challenge us, and to task us with the important work of helping you pursue your international vision for the university. Despite our many, many successes, we are just getting started. With your partnership we will continue to transform KU and the world.
